Article: NSW backs national strategy after setting pace on horse welfare

Racing NSW chairman Russell Balding believes the development of a national welfare strategy by an independent panel led by former Victorian premier Denis Napthine can only improve practices already in place.

In an industry which can be fragmented, Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, the Australian Trainers  Association and the Australian Jockeys Association  have come together with industry professionals to form a working group focused on every area of horse welfare.
